Royal Institution the Official Partner of The 1st Asian Congress on Health and Peace Tourism


 


With its advocacy to promote health and peace, Royal Institution (RI) joined the International Association of Educators for World Peace, UN-NGO to be a part of the 1st Asian Congress on Health and Peace Tourism which will take place at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) on Dec.4-6, 2009.

The event was launched on the 31st of July 2009 at the PTTC.  It was attended by dignitaries from Embassies of Cambodia, Hon Tith Sarubreth, The Lao PDR, Hon Phonesavanh Sipaseuth and Timor Leste, Hon. Francisco Dionisio Fernandez. Backing up the event was Department of Tourism represented by Undersecretary Cynthia L. Carrion, and the Assistant Press Secretary Ms. Baby O’Brien. The highlight of the program was the conferment of diplomas to the graduates of the Open International University for Complimentary Medicine of Colombo, Sri Lanka officiated by Dr. Josef de Ubaldo, DSc, Phd, FRCP as official representative. It also featured different presentations from the partners, which included RI.

During its launching, RI awarded Dr. Josef de Ubaldo, National Chancellor and Vice President for East Asia of the International Association of Educators for World Peace, the title of Honorary President of the Royal Institute of Alternative Medicine in recognition of his contributions to the field of natural and alternative medicine.

It was a successful gathering where RI was given the chance to promote itself as one of the official partners. Dayang Hadja Celia H. Kiram, Chairperson of the Committee on Membership and Vice-President for Administration of the Royal Institution, gave a brief introduction about RI and solicited an affirmative response from the audience.

As part of its gracious gesture on the people’s warm reception, RI offered membership to those who were present during the said event. The audience was enthusiastically interested in joining the institution. RI is optimistic that the event on Dec. 4-6, which is a first of its kind, will be very much successful.
