UGNAYAN Summit 2015 will be held on March 6-8, 2015 at the National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG), University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon CIty.

Carrying the theme, “Islands of Opportunities for the Youth in an Integrated ASEAN,” UGNAYAN 2015 will be a youth-focused national conversation on ASEAN Integration, identifying the challenges that the Filipino youth need to overcome, as well as the opportunities that will be available for them in the ASEAN Community. It aims to educate the youth of what is in-store for them in the ASEAN Integration. UGNAYAN also aims to come up with a concrete and feasible action-plan that all stakeholders should do to improve the capacity of Filipinos to succeed in the ASEAN Community.

The event will be composed of three plenaries. “ASEAN 101,” focuses on the basics of ASEAN and ASEAN integration: its three pillars, its rationale, its programs, and the effects of the integration to its member nations.

It will be followed by a discussion on the “Challenges and Opportunities of the Integration.” This panel discussion will focus on the effects, issues, and challenges of the ASEAN integration to the Philippines. After which all delegates will be divided into Integrated Discussion Groups, which aims to develop a deeper understanding of the relation of the Filipinos to the ASEAN integration.

Another plenary will focus on “The Filipino Youth in an ASEAN Era” which will tackle different opportunities that the ASEAN integration will open to the youth. A breakout session will follow to have an in depth discussion on the issues, challenges and opportunities of the ASEAN integration to the different sectors. Another integrated discussion will follow to focus on “Grabbing and Creating Opportunities for the Youth in an Integrated ASEAN.”

Other than the discussions, UGNAYAN also features competitions to its delegates. There will be three competitions: Project Feasibility Defense Competition, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Essay Writing Contests in English and Filipino. These competitions aim to develop the understanding of the delegates regarding the discussion matter.
