Royal Institution Singapore held its 3rd International Congress and Conferment Ceremony on 1st May, 2014 at the Sutera Harbour Marina, Golf and Country Club’s Theatre in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah with the theme “Global Networking for Business and Investment Opportunities”.
During this event, Dr. Emmanuel Y. Angeles, the former Chairman of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) (Minister), was bestowed/honoured/awarded with the title of Honorary Fellow of the Royal Institute of Educators. He then presided over the conferment ceremony of the other distinguished conferees.
Prominent Filipino, Malaysian and Singaporean delegates were honoured as Fellows of many Royal Institutes during the event, including 30 doctorate degree holders, among whom were Dr. Ruperto P. Somera, the former Regional Director of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Rev. Fr. Dr. Herminio V. Dagohoy, the Rector Magnificus of University of Santo Tomas (UST) (the oldest university in Asia) and State University and College (SUC) Presidents and officers.
Several Fellows of various Royal Institutes presented their Research Papers on subjects ranging across the fields of Business, Education, Finance, Law, Management, Social Sciences and Taxation. All the presenters were doctorate degree holders and authors.
More than 40 delegates from the Philippines explored business, investment, tourism and education opportunities in Sabah across 4 days of events.
