Royal Institution, Singapore (RI) initiated the historic and unprecedented signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between and among 33 Royal Institution (RI) Accredited Educational Institutions and Organisations of Asian countries during RI’s 8th Global Congress and Conferment Ceremony on the 12th of August 2016 at JKKN Auditorium, Sabah National Culture and Arts Complex, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. 

Thirty-three (33) University and Organisation Presidents from Malaysia, Maldives, Philippines and Singapore jointly signed the significant memorandum of understanding which aims to establish and maintain effective global networking, facilitating collaboration and connecting business, commerce and industries and education to enable diploma graduates to do a one-year top-up programme for bachelor degrees.

The MOU signing ceremony was witnessed by none other than YB Datuk Seri Panglima FDr. Lr. Haji Masidi Manjun, HFRI, DFRIT, Sabah Minister of Tourism, Culture, Environment and Education.


The signing ceremony of MOU was a historic event for Sabah and for all the international delegates who witnessed the unprecedented occasion in Kota Kinabalu where 33 University and Organisation Presidents of Asian Countries gathered and united to join hands with Almacrest International College of Sabah.

The far reaching impact of RI’s initiatives of effective global networking and collaboration between and among global professionals on various fields would further benefit Sabah’s education, tourism, business and investments sectors.

The 33 Universities and Organisations and the approximately 200 delegates have a network of more than six million faculties, alumni, students, accounting graduates, Certified Public Accountants, Lawyers, Architects, Engineers, investors and all other professions.

Royal Institution, together with its over 250 constituent Royal Institutes, create boundless opportunities for its members to participate in RI global seminars, congresses and conferences worldwide.

YB Datuk Seri Panglima FDr. Lr. Haji Masidi Manjun, HFRI, DFRIT, Sabah Minister of Tourism, Culture, Environment and Education thanked the Royal Institution for choosing Sabah as the venue for its two global events in 2014, and again on this occasion, and for promoting Sabah as an ideal destination for education, tourism, business, collaboration, investment, and MICE, which is the major thrust of the State of Sabah.
